Artist Statement #4

In my final web adventure, I crafted a whimsical journey through a fairy garden, offering players the opportunity to make meaningful choices that would shape their paths. I wanted to explore themes of choice and consequence, all while keeping a playful and fantastical tone. The aim was to engage users with light-hearted decision-making and a touch of magic.

Creating this web adventure taught me a lot about storytelling, interactive design, and using online platforms like Wix. I realized that the user experience was crucial, so I worked hard to ensure smooth navigation and clear instructions for each choice. I learned how to use Wix's special features to enhance the visual appeal of my site, and I experimented with Adobe Photoshop to create simple GIF animations that added a dynamic element to the experience.

Initially, my concept was relatively simple, but as I developed it, I found opportunities to add depth and variety. I included multiple fairy types, each with unique choices and consequences, allowing users to explore different outcomes. This evolution was exciting, but it also made me wish I had more time to develop additional pathways and scenarios, especially along the "love" option.

Although I am happy with the final result, I believe there is always room for improvement. If I could redo this project, I would dedicate more time to refining the dialogue and branching paths, ensuring that each choice felt meaningful and had interesting consequences. Additionally, I'd focus on creating a more balanced range of outcomes, offering a broader spectrum of emotional experiences for players.

Overall, the project was a success because it allowed me to merge storytelling with interactive design, and I enjoyed the process of creating something that encouraged exploration and imagination.
